Sales Performance and Future Updates
During Remedy’s Capital Markets Day 2024 presentation, the studio shared that Control had sold over 4.5 million unitsacross all supported platforms. Remedy also hinted at a small update for Control in early 2025, promising a few enhancements for players.
Furthermore, Remedy gave fans a glimpse into the future, revealing that Control 2 would feature RPG elements, though further details on its development and release timeline remain under wraps.
Gaming on Mac: A Growing Trend
Apple has been making strides to bring more triple-A games to its Apple Silicon-powered devices (M1, M1 Pro, M1 Max, M2), with several major titles making their way to macOS. In addition to Control Ultimate Edition, games like Death Stranding: Director’s Cut, Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and the Resident Evil series have all arrived on Mac.
Other exciting releases include Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition, which is also set to launch on Mac in early 2025, and Resident Evil 2 Remake, which will be available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac in December 2024.
As Apple continues to push for more gaming options, these releases are part of a broader strategy to make macOS a more attractive platform for gamers.
